With the relentless progress of computer systems we are now finding that an increasing amount of workshop manuals and other car & auto data is now available in electronic format. These are either direct copies of the workshop manual CD's and parts lists CD's used by your local dealer or are older manuals copied from either paper copy or microfiche onto CD in Adobe Acrobat format, picture format or html. Whatever method the end result is a manual where you can print pages as and when you need then allowing you to keep your original printed manuals free of oily fingerprints. Typically these are described as Electronics Parts Catalogues (EPC) Technical Information Systems (TIS) or other catchy title. The manufacturers versions in particular can be interesting in that the can contain (such as in the Ford TIS) Technical Service Bulletins. This is the information on all the faults and fixes your vehicle may require that the dealer knows about but doesn't tell you!
